One of the few games that I consider to be a top favourite of mine.
STORY:
You play as the main protagonist named Jade. The world is being invaded by DomZ, and she, along with her 'uncle' Pey'j, tries to protect children from them, but she soon runs out of money to keep the shield protecting them powered so she takes up photography in order to power up the shield and uses it to spy. I won't spoil the rest of the story for you, but trust me, it's really good. The characters are engaging and interesting to watch.
GRAPHICS:
The graphics, I have to say, are top-notch. To me, it just looks great for it's time. There are other games out there that do look better, not I have to admit that Beyond Good & Evil definitely looks impressive. The character models are well detailed and the environments look appealing and well-designed.
GAMEPLAY:
The gameplay of Beyond Good & Evil, to me, is really impressive, because it feels like I'm playing quite a lot of games all piled into one great game. It has the feel of Zelda, Metal Gear Solid, Rayman, Tomb Raider, and of course, Splinter Cell. Basically, you mostly spend the game using a camera to take pictures of different types of creatures, in order to send off in exchange for money so you can buy things for your journey. As well as gaining ten different types of footage, you'll be able to unlock a zoom camera and more crystal orbs. Overall, the gameplay's entertaining at all times and is a blast to play through. The only gripe I have is with the game's length; it took me only a few hours to beat the entire game, but then again, I care more for the quality of the journey and not the quantity.
SOUND:
The music of the game is terrific, I have never heard such beautiful music. The sound effects are good as well, and the voice-acting is very top-notch.
OVERALL:
This is one of my top ten favourite games ever because it's just an experience that everybody should be able to enjoy. I cannot wait for the sequel.
