Sega brings the highly anticipated hack-and-slash to the PS3 with exclusive loading times and blurry textures.

User Rating: 8 | Bayonetta PS3
Bayonetta was one of my top most anticipated games of 2010, and after playing the demo, I was sure that this was a must buy. The main character is fun and sexy, and the gameplay is over the top just like I like it. It really blew the action of DMC out of the water. However, when I finally purchased the full game, I was shocked at the ridiculous issues Sega failed to fix for the PS3 version.

As much as I love Bayonetta, it it probably one of the worst ports I have ever played. The differences between the 360 and PS3 version are so easily identifiable, it makes me wonder if the port team even cared about making a quality version. When you first start the game, you'll notice the atrocious loading times; it takes nearly 30 seconds to even load a level. If that's not bad enough, even the pause menu has a loading screen!! It takes about 3-5 seconds for that to come up. It's not a fancy menu either, just the basics(quit, options, controls, etc.). Even though these are minor issues, too many can really disrupt the flow of the game, and I cannot believe that the developers released a game with such pathetic problems. The PS3 version's graphics also has a washed out look, and the frame rate has a few problems. In fact, the graphics were show washed out looking at one point that the opening action sequence was difficult to see what was going on. This is not 2007, developers should have figured out the PS3's hardware by now. With games such as Ratchet and Clank, KillZone and Uncharted 2 on the market, there's no excuse but terrible developers.

Don't get me wrong though, the game is far from unplayable, and it's a blast to get into, but these issues keep it from being the game it should be. Hopefully when Bayonetta 2 comes, and I'm sure it will, Sega will do a much better job.
I still recommend playing this game, but if you have a 360, pick that up instead. It is far more superior to the PS3 version
