Best Multiplayer FPS to date

User Rating: 8.5 | Battlefield: Bad Company 2 X360
BF:BC2 was a follow up to a lack-luster BF:Bad Company. EA went away from the goofy unrealistic culture to a more serious role. The campaign is somewhat goofy but I'm not talking about the campaign on this review. The multiplayer is serious and the best game around.

What I Like:
-Destruction
-Bullet drops over distance (realistic)
-Medic Class
-Game modes

What I Don't Like:
-"Newb Tubers"
-Maps
-Inconsistent damage
-Too many snipers on certain maps

Review:
This game is revolutionary and is the stepping stone to Battlefield 3, which will likely be the leading FPS of all time when it launches. Many people got this game immediately when it was launched and I remember watching the reviews and saying, "No, I've got CoD." I was so wrong. This game absolutely destroys CoD in my opinion. Call of Duty games are so one dimensional--run around or defend a flag, shoot the enemy or throw a grenade at them. That's about it in the list of options. The only thing you get to decide is what type of gun. Now here is how BF:BC2 differs from that: Sitting in a abandoned ship on a frozen lake with my friend, a tank comes barreling out of the woods knocking tress down as he sprays machine gun rounds in your direction--that's Battlefield. Having your partner radio to you that there is a sniper in the house in front of you, load up the base-floor with C-4 explosives, and see that house crumble to the ground--that's Battlefield. You and a friend assaulting the enemy base with a Black Hawk Helicopter--that's Battlefield. Climbing on top of a warehouse roof and dropping a group of enemies over 1 mile away with a .50 cal--that's Battlefield. Taking out an entire squad (by setting up carefully placed C-4 traps) while your the last man defending a checkpoint--that's Battlefield. Sitting beside a hay-bail in an open pasture with a gilley suit while the enemy is being constantly harassed by the fire of an "unknown" hidden sniper just 150 yards away--that's Battlefield. Screwing up somebody's afternoon by shooting their C-4 they just placed on the ground while they are still standing beside it--that's Battlefield.

That's what I like about BF. However, there are a few nuances I would like to see changed for BF3. Too many people try to snipe on a few maps that are just too big for Squad Deathmatch. It gets to the point where there are 4v4v4v4 teams of snipers just shooting anything that moves. It takes like 45 minutes to play a round when this happens. Another thing I would like to see is to limit the amount of each class a team is allowed to have spawned at one time. There should be an about equal level of classes. Sniper battles or Newb Tube battles become quite frustrating.

Scoring:
Graphics 8.5/10
The graphics are good but not the best in the genre. You won't be disappointed though.

Sound 10/10
You can actually get several kills and keep yourself alive longer by having your TV turned up loud enough. You can hear people run up the stairs behind you, or break out a window on the floor below you. You can hear a sniper reload if he close by. On top of that, the explosions are amazing.

Gameplay 9/10
There is a steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it, you like BF:BC2 setup better than CoD.

Story 6/10
I don't really care about the campaign. Does anybody these days?

Multiplayer 9.5/10
Great.

X-Factor 10/10
I don't know what else to call it. This game just has "it." I can't quite put my finger on it, but BF has "it."

Now the question, can you wait for Battlefield 3?
