Promising

User Rating: 7 | Battlefield 4 PC

I have enjoyed bf since BC2 and the vehicles and destruction of the game have hooked me since. With aging pc hardware i played BC2 and BF3, but i had problems. After getting a powerful new gaming pc i looked forward to playing BF3 (which i could with no problems) and soon BF4. My motivation to progress in BF3 was limited by the fact that 4 was coming out soon and that 3 had been out for long enough that so many people already leveled up much higher than me. Then came the beta, and boy was i blown away. The full vehicular combat in a city with levolution and the skyscraper falling was awesome. Somehow when the game came out, it was buggier than the beta. Constant server crashes are extremely frustrating, causing loss of xp earned. Sound bugs, lag issues, etc plagued the game and ruined the experience that promised so much. The graphics look great and gameplay is an improvement over BF3, but these issues have spoiled my taste for the game in the very important, formative time that is when a game is first released. I am still impressed by the "game changing events" and am happy to see the destruction of buildings brought back from BC2, but these issues are ridiculous. Also, there wasn't enough attention paid to them in this first week by gaming news companies like Gamespot. I am playing it on the highest settings and look forward to enjoying the game bug free. Until then i will suffer through the problems because it is worth it, but there may soon be a point where it is not. Some may be able to relate to this, but my success in the game comes and goes, and to lose progress when it comes is devastating.
