Battle Arena Toshinden Remix is a decent fighter with some improvements over the PlayStation version but nothing decent

I usually associate remixes as a revamp or enhancement to the original media type. I've seen improvements with graphical concepts (ie. Virtua Fighter to Virtua Fighter Remix) or even (Mortal Kombat III to Ultimate Mortal Kombat III) which those games have great improvements over there previous original releases. However, this Remix is only improvements are basically the animation of the story mode and the character selection and the exclusive hidden character (Cuputo). The sprites are not much of an improvement over Playstation's original release and the sounds are a bit annoying b/c they are over exaggerated at time. The musical score retains it's value as with the fighting game's soundtrack. Eiji's,Sho's, Kayin's, and Cuputo's musical score are some of the most energetic electronic music that really enhances the gaming. The actual 3-D revolving environments are pretty neat at times but can get confusing with the control movements of your fighters and those damn annoying side steps that lead you in to an opponents attack. There's also a bit of an unbalance among the boss characters. Sho seems exceedingly faster than your characters with his counters and off-set special moves (yes he two fireballs in one motion) and Gaia's attacks seem to cut you in half, especially if they connect from up close. Overall it is a pretty standout game for the begining of the 3-D revolution and graphical quality's over the tradition 2-D fighter. Still had needed improvements especially with the slowdowns of the battles and confusing camera angles. It hasn't age well so you've better off going with Sega's Virtua Fighter Series. Well, that's all from me. Catch you all in the next fighting tournament.
