not to bad,but boring and fustrating.
the game is a platformer, and a crappy one at that. the objective of each level is to simply get from one side to the other. but its complicated. most of the gadgets you have to use dont work properly. like the hookshot. you have to hit up slightly before C in a very presice way. so when you jump across a hole, you expect to be able to latch onto a ceiling. but it doesnt work. half the time, i cant even tell what to latch onto. its very inconsistent. this wouldnt be a big deal, but you have to do this constantly through out the game. its one of the main factors.
the graphics are pretty shallow in this one to. sure their dark like their supposed to be, but, it looks like a game that could have been on the NES. there isnt anything specifically 16-bit about this game(as in there is no special effects or anything, its quite plain).
the music is awsome in this game. its dark, sketchy and cool, just like it should be. there are also alot of cool sound effects.
the enemys are just downright annoying. especially those stupid ass clowns with the machine guns. you have no choice but to get hit by those guys. and theres alot of them. also, catwoman is an enraging boss. at fist its not so bad, but then she starts doing front and back flips constantly. you cant hit her while shes doing this, but she can hit you. just ridiculous.
i like how the game has that opening scenario of batman climbing the building and having the the girl(its been a while scince ive seen the movie) fall to her death, from the penguin, and having batman jump to her side, making him to blame for her death.
altogether, this game isnt too bad, but its just all of the stupid little things that hurt this game. the music was awsome, and the game made great use of characters for the movie. this is an exclusive title for the sega genesis. it was created by sega themselves. so it is different than the beatem up version for the super nintendo. its not way to bad, but i wouldnt go out of the way to look for it.
