I want my 15 dollars back.

This game was the source of much frustration for me. It didn’t feel like it was ever a finished product. The instruction manual even had typos, which made some of the moves in the game difficult to perform. Sure, something like that isn’t much of a big deal due to a little thing called the Internet, but back in the information stone ages, it was the suck.

Aside from obvious quality assurance problems, the game really wasn’t that great to begin with. The only decent thing about the game was the graphics, which used digitized images, a la Mortal Kombat, for the game characters. The levels were adequately detailed and colorful. The music wasn’t very memorable, but from what I can remember, it was in the same vein as the movie’s soundtrack. Where the crap hit the fan with this game was the game play. The characters were difficult to control and used a control scheme like Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter II the perform actions like throwing a Batarang or grappling hook. The control scheme wouldn’t be such an issue if it was executed correctly. Along with misprints in the manual, this makes some of the moves almost impossible to perform. The game is also overly difficult. The enemies take off large amounts of health and health items are few to come by. You aren’t given many lives or continues. I think I was able to get to the third level, but I gave up trying to get further.

I only bought this game because it was cheap at Wal-Mart and many stores were trying to clear out their Genesis and SNES inventory for Playstation and Saturn games. In hindsight, there were probably other games worth the 15 bucks I spent on this, but what can I do about it. Absolutely nothing.
