Batmobile Shouldn't Be A Tank

I hate the Batmobile in Arkham Knight. Why is it a tank? In the canon universe of Batman, he would never use a gun because his parents were killed by a gun. If I wanted a tank, I would play HALO or Call of Duty. Why am I being forced to use that POS? Batman is supposed to be non lethal. Rant over. Gotham City is well laid out and enjoyable to glide around. Hand to hand combat is good too. Story, fair.
