The first game truly made its mark when it released back in '09.So does the sequel live up to its expectations?The answer is yes.Arkham City is truly a fascinating game which can by enjoyed by pros and casual gamers alike.The new open world features were no doubt an interesting addition.It definitely is more fun to glide around and run across the roof tops of Arkham City,beats the seemingly boring exploration in Arkham Asylum although the city itself feels kind of "empty" at times.But then again there are bad guys to beat up and an array of interesting puzzles and mysteries to solve.The new and improved arsenal of gadgets also takes this game a step ahead of its predecessor.The combat is some what the same but with slight modifications.Cat woman sequences are also quite splendid.Cat Woman is more acrobatic when compared to Batman but unlike bats she doesn't have an interesting collection of gadgets.Well instead she has a collection martial arts weapons.Anyways,as for the level design,it is still the familiar fairly linear formula that made its predecessor quite a hit.Only thing is it feels a little more "bigger" as there are more places to explore.The story isn't bad either,but at times you feel more submerged within the game play that at times the story doesn't seem to matter at all.The characters,good and evil alike are quite interesting and enjoyable.The plot seems perfectly balanced despite the fact that there's more than just one villain.As for the graphics and visual design,they are truly splendid.The whole "Gothic" feel is well presented.Overall the game is splendid and is more than just GOTY '11.
