Finally a Great Batman Game

User Rating: 10 | Batman: Arkham Asylum PS3
I liked Batman Vengence. You know the game based on the animated series. I also remember kind of enjoying the Batman Forever game. This one however, was the first time I ever really felt like I was playing the Batman that I have been reading about for the last thirty years of my life.
With Tight controls and a very simple fighting style, that will have you wanting to wade into a group of 16 people and pick a fight. This is a situation you are in toward the end of the game, where you have the option of not fighting a small room full of Black Gate tranfers, or kicking the crap out of them. I proudly chose the latter. This unfortunately takes a back seat to fighting plant pods and ultra crazies towards the end, but only for a very brief time, before it is back to fighting the way you will love too.
That being said, as fun as the usual battles are, the Boss fights sometimes come up short. I wanted to fight Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow at first comes off like a major battle is shaping up. His handeling is way off book. Mind you that is just a very small detail. One that hardly takes away from the fun I did have.
Even after the big battle with Joker and his men, I find myself going back for the riddler challenges, that I can only imagine how easy even hard mode will be after mastering these mini games.
All you have to do is watch the videos to see that the graphics are beautiful, and all you have to know is that Mark Hammil is back as the Joker as well as Kevin Conroy as the Batman, and that will tell you the voice acting is A+ as well. So far there is a short list for best game I played this year. This is on top right now.
