Debated on this game for a while, now an economic gem!

Due to all the bad press surrounding this game when it first hit the shelves, I put off buying it for a long time even though I was jonesn' for some fishing. Finally, with the pre-owned price falling to $20 without the rod controller, I decided to finally pick it up, and I must say it's worth more than $20 without the controller!

It was a recent fishing trip that got me looking at this game on the shelves again. Any working individual knows that you can't make it back out to the lake EVERY weekend, right? Here are the reasons why within 10 minutes of turning on the game I was able to overlook the shortcomings outlined in the official reviews, and just enjoy my time fishing on the lake.

1) When a fish snaps your line, your lure is gone! Resupplying your tackle box is just plain fun/cool. 2) The biggest fish you catch from each species goes in to an aquarium for bragging rights. This works as a good motivator if you have other couch fishers at home. 3) Cool boats and a wide selection of gear/lures. 4) The bigger fish put up a pretty good fight, which means you'll experience #1 on my list a lot! 5) Turning down the music in the options menu and starting up your own playlist greatly enhances the audio experience ;)
