A great Sim for it being a Unlicensed game
Learning Curve: 15 Minutes
Score: 8 out of 10
Now I'll let you know when I was younger I didn't really follow baseball, I follow it a little bit now, I know right now the Mariners suck this season. Released in 1988 Bases Loaded was one of the first Baseball Sims I can remember although this isn't licensed by the MLB it still does a good job in making the baseball feeling real. This game has two modes a one person mode and a two player the single player mode uses a season similar to a normal baseball season although I never saw it through I played enough to get the idea it tried to mirror the MLB without infringing on the rights of the MLB. I personally like the aspect of being able to start a fight the only downside from what I remember you couldn't actually use the controller to help your character fight it's all automatic it's shown on the huge billboard it's like a mini show during the game which is a nice touch. That isn't the only time you see that huge screen when you do a major play it's broad casted on the screen. I mainly used to remember playing this game with my cousins and sadly since I wasn't into baseball that much I never did that good but now that I am older and I have better concentration (on some days) I can play the gamer a little more than I used to. The only real downside is I wish that when you hit the ball high and went into the outfield I wish it would have had a indicator to show where it was going to land. Also depending on how old your controller was I found it was difficult to throw the ball when in action it may have just been me, but because of those two problems I couldn't give it the 10 I wanted to so it gets a 8 out of 10 which is still a great score, so if you see this game and you like baseball I suggest you get it and you won't be disappointed.
