If you have girls under the age 8 then this is perfect.
The game offers your youngsters the opportunity dress barbie and her horse in hundreds of different outfit combinations. They can change the horse colors, saddles, blankets etc. to their hearts content.
Out on the trails they must perform some very basic collection tasks and avoid porcupines, skunks, logs and broken bridges on the way. The biggest challenge so far has been lassoing the runaway horses but even that isn't much of a problem for my 7 year old. When they tire of the adventure they can play head to head in a number of different competition challenges too.
The graphics are colorful and adequately detailed. The animations are a little stiff but otherwise not terribly awkward.
The gameplay is very basic and this title is probably not for any experienced gamers. New gamers that are fans of Barbie will love it because even the very young players can get right up on the horse and start having fun.
The music is very pleasant and appropriate but the sound effects are the titles worst problem. The footsteps and generally galloping effects are downright annoying at times. Still, this is easily overlooked by the younger players.
For $20 this title is a decent value if you have a new gamer that loves Barbie. If your gamer is 8 or 9 you might want to think twice about this one as there are other titles for the price that probably offer more of a challenge.
