Doesn't live up to it's name, but still a decent game!

User Rating: 7 | Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge GBA
Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie were two of the best games I found for the N64. They were long and fun along with humour mixed in. It was basically a Super Mario 64 rip off, but better! So when I heard I was going to be able to bring Banjo on the road, I was hyped! But when I got the game, it wasn't all I thought it would be.

--Graphics--

The graphics are actually really good for the GBA. It basically looks like the N64 Banjo games, except smaller. Well not almost, but it reminds you of it. Many familiar characters are here along with new ones and they all look great.

--Gameplay--

The gameplay in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge is the same as it's N64 brothers. You control Banjo and Kazooie who learn a wide variety of moves from a mole and each move is essential to solve certain puzzles. Some exmplaes are using Kazooie as a handheld gun, becoming invincible, smashing enemies with Kazooie's beak and more. There are even many minigames that you'll play during your adventure. The minigames are decent, but if you're looking for a good minigame game on the GBA, look elsewhere.

--Music--

Many Banjo tunes appear in the GBA version, along with some new ones. The old ones are always fun to listen to and the new ones are great too.

--Story--

Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge is a direct sequel to Banjo-Kazooie for the N64. Grunty is still under the rock and unable to get out, however Klungo brings a robotic Grunty suit which Grunty's spirit flies into to make it alive. Now, Grunty's plan is to go back in time to take over the world, however Banjo and Kazooie follow her back in time and it's up to the duo again to save Spiral Mountain. In the end, Banjo and Kazooie defeat Grunty and her spirit returns under the rock. Obviously, Klungo is somehow unable to make a new robot suit, so Banjo-Tooie is to follow. The story seems a bit strange, but it works well.

--Overall--

Grunty' Revenge is a decent sequel to the great franchise and a decent handheld game all together. The adventure is kind of short and most of the time during the game, you'll just be collecting items instead of doing actual little quests to get your Jiggys. In the end, it's a decent game, but not necessary to play if you're a fan.
