This is a really great game! Its colors are a bit dreary, but the content is pretty fun.
Pros
- Good, thoroughly tested and working content.
- Simple UI.
- I've barely seen any bugs so far, and the only one that I have may not even be a bug: occasionally, for about one in-game season, you can't change the professions of your people. This is not common, though.
- I love the random map generator. :)
- Thorough manual on how to play the game, even though the tutorial covers only the basics. There's plenty about the flow of the game to figure out on your own.
- Before running out of things to do, the game is very fun.
- The difficulty level is mere no breeze, which feels just right.
Neutral
- The speed controls are a little inconvenient to access, and a wee bit unintuitive (press F1 and then 1 to slow down, 4 to speed up).
- The animal animations are pretty simple (walking, eating, looking one direction), but that's no biggy.
Cons
- The visuals are uninspiring and kind of bland, but at least the village looks nice and pretty when it's snowing.
- The game quickly runs out of content, such as new things to build. The achievements are things like keeping 100 citizens happy for 10 years, but after reaching 50 people, I've already built pretty much every building in the game, and don't see much point in continuing. Because of this, the game feels very short; I only played 9 hours before I ran out of new things to do. A shame, because I would have loved to continue it.
