avoid like the plague...

Unfortunately, i got stuck with this game because my brother took a trip to the store and just had to come back with something.

On with the details-

- The story is bland and not at all compelling, and feels like they took it from the standard adventure story stockpile and made as few changes as possible

- Dungeons are made horribly. In one dungeon for instance, as a background, on the floor they was deep cracks where the player could actually fall into. There were also little spikes where you couldn't navigate around which made gameplay slow and frustrating. Aside from this one dungeon, there was also a place where wind would blow you off the edge of the platform you were on which added to the frustration.

- The idea of rust monsters (a creature that attacks you and eats anything metal that your wearing) is only a novelty and gets old after the third one, taking all your armor and weapons off and having to just beat it to death with your hands at a fraction of the damage

- Save points are littered throughout the game, a lazy attempt at a save anywhere function (seriously though, there can be a save point outside of an inn and one will be in that very in)

- Annoying slowdowns from to many creatures/people in one area. Such as in town, going to someone's manor, we passed a hotspot with a ton of people and the game slowed down to a crawl. Same goes for dungeons with a lot of monsters in one spot, which makes it incredibly annoying when you die just because the game slows down. (seriously, did they test anything, I mean it slows down to a crawl take some people out)

- Uselessness of a jump command. Better use would have been to have a second attack button for a stronger/slower attack to vary it up a little.

Bottom line-
this game is an insult to aspiring game designers and shouldn't have been released without more attention to the details.

if you still want a dungeon crawler/hack n' slash try Champions of Norrath, I at least had better luck with it.
