If the frame rate worked, this game would be much, much better.

User Rating: 6 | Automobili Lamborghini N64
I didn't really choose this game but it was bundled with an N64 I got from ebay... it's alright, but it's no Rush 2049.

Gameplay: The gameplay changes drastically when you set it from "easy" to "hard". All of a sudden the cars slide all over the place if you turn a bit too much, while on "easy" they almost never slide at all (and feel very arcade). Unfortunately, the "story" of the game (or if you want a challenge from the other cars... I'm not actually sure they're harder on hard because I haven't mastered the sliding enough to keep up with them yet, but they're easy on "easy") requires you to bump it to hard...

There are six tracks, and eventually you can earn the ability to play them in reverse. Some of them are somewhat tricky, some even have decent scenery... and then there's the loop track, which is in a simple forest canyon sort of place. All of them are pretty playable and work well.

You start with two cars, and the only "story" in the game is that you unlock a car when you first beat each mode on each difficulty level.

Your steering deteriorates as the game goes. Normally toughing it out is better than a pit stop, even if you wear a tire enough for them to tell you, because the pit crews are ridiculously slow, and it'll be all *your* fault. You like Mario Party? You like wearing out your joystick and your hand simultaneously by crazy spins that the game may or may not register? Spend as much time as you can in the pits then.

The gameplay gets a 6.

Graphics: Decent enough, but the fog can be pretty bad and the frame rate gets horrible when enough cars are on the screen. Even with the Expansion Pak, which it does use. The graphics get a 4.

Sound: The sound effects are fine, although the voice parts are sort of annoying. The menu music has some unrelated voice parts from the game thrown in, which is strange... the sound gets a 7.

Value: There's not much here, and you have to repeat some tracks multiple times... there is four player multiplayer, though. If you only do two player multiplayer, you can race a tournament with two bots; otherwise, you have to pick one track. Value gets a 5.

Tilt: Can be fun, but definitely go with Rush 2049 instead. Tilt is a 6.

One last note: Too bad the Viper is the hardest car to unlock...
