Atari Anthology is definitely way better than Retro Atari Classics for the DS.

User Rating: 8 | Atari Anthology PS2
If you guys even played Retro Atari Classics, you should know that that game was a lazy port with only ten games. It had no single down loadable multiplayer. In contrast, Atari Anthology for the PS2 is one of the greatest compilations of classic games of all time.

Although there isn't really much to say about the presentation, you get about a total of 85 classic Atari games. That is a lot of classic Atari games right there, and the price for the game is not expensive. You might have to pay around $20.00 at the most.
Each group of games has a different category. There's sports, classic, shooting, racing, outer space, and mind etc.

For the classic games, you'll get to see some of your favorites like Asteroids, Pong, Sprint, Warlords, Breakout, and many more. Also, there are game manuals that have been placed in the disc with each game. You get to see the inside and outside of what the original manuals looked like. Also, there's a man that does commentary videos for certain games.

The graphics are very accurate for the most part. If you even played Atari classics back in the days, you'll definitely remember those square and pixilated graphics. It also had a contrast of warm and cool colors. Although they are very outdated for the PS2 version, it was still up to graphical standards way back then.

The sounds are also very accurate to their original game counter parts. You'll get to hear the famous beeps and noises. Atari games had no music back then because the technology was just getting started for video games.

The gameplay is pretty accurate, but some games have sloppy controls. In games like Breakout, the ball controls very fast. That game had accurate controls because most of them had a medium to fast paced. The one game I encountered problems with is one of the two player racing games. For some apparent reason, the second player controls didn't work because I couldn't get the car to move at all. However the first player controls worked just fine.

The lasting approval is a somewhat limited multiplayer mode, but it had accurate presentation, graphics, and sound. The controls were fine, but a few of them had serious problems. You can only go up to two players.
