The downhill of Assassins Creed starts with Unity

User Rating: 3 | Assassin's Creed Unity (Limited Edition) PS4

At first, Unity seemed like Ubisoft hadn't missed a step coming off of Black Flag. Then I got further into the game. Boy was I disappointed quick. So disappointed that I haven't even had any ambition to attempt to finish the game. There somethings this game does just as well as any other game in the series, but it just isn't enough to compete with the other sequels. The game play seemed very sluggish and the character never responded correctly to the actions I wanted him to do, making being stealthy almost impossible. It also made it a hard time when scaling buildings. I didn't have anyone to try out the online co-op but I can't imagine that it could have made the game any better. The graphics weren't up to par with the next gen systems either. For me, this was the second biggest disappointment from the game play. The one good thing I can say about this game is they brought in some new and improved animations for the combat that I very much liked. Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough to get me enthused.

For Unity, I would say its only a good game for those that love to be disappointed. I was so excited when I heard it was coming it out only to have my hopes shot down. It doesn't help that Ubisoft has decided to make Assassins Creed an annually based game which makes me uncertain of what is next to come. I hope they can revive the series and bring it new life we haven't seen yet. As for Unity and as a fan of the series, I would advise people to skip this one and just keep the memories and good times that were made in Black Flag. Lets hope for the best with what Ubisoft decides to do next.
