...too bad

User Rating: 8 | Assassin's Creed Unity (Special Edition) PC

Yes, "too bad" it's the first thought which came to mind after spending some time playing Ubisoft's latest "Masterpiece".

Quotations marks got more than one meaning in this particular contest, (as "Unity" should be considered under different points of view).

Hundreds of negative comments utterly shocked me when I first read player's raging observations about the game and it's hard not to agree with them.

Paying about sixty euros (or dollars, doesn't matter) on "day-one", as for "preorder" is even worse, just to receive something which is, let's be honest, severely defective it's not the right thing to do if you care about what customers expect from you.

I won't go over this matter again, as I would only end up saying things which have already been reported by many other players. I'll rather underline Unity's undeniable strenghts.

If you don't take into account all the countless bugs and errors which will force you to restart the game, sometimes wasting hours of hard work, or the unbelievable system requirements you'll need just to run it on a fairly up-to-date machine, then developers managed to create one of the most complex and deep episodes ever. That complex and deep players could even get lost in the widely open world full of possibilities.

The higly intuitive and easy cooperative system of missions deserves a word as it can capture the player's attention without becoming a disadvantage to those who rather not use it and carry on with the main single player storyline.

Breathtaking atmospheres of revolutionary Paris are far more fascinating from the ones we had the chance to see in ACIII (I hope overseas friends won't get it the wrong way).

Overally positive impression of the main character revived from old-fashioned european charm embodied in the previously chapters by ours old friend, Ezio Auditore.

Probably a bit "against the tide", I feel like recommending this game with an 8 over 10.

One tip I can give to those who haven't buyed it yet is to wait until a reliable patch from Ubisoft is released, and if you are a "Disciple of the Creed" it should surely have it's rights on your collection.
