Should have been titled Black Flag 1.5

User Rating: 4 | Assassin's Creed Rogue PS3

Assassins Creed: Rogue is a sad and lazy effort in the last entry on the Playstation 3. While it may retain most of the fun there was to be had in Black Flag everything about the game is familiar territory, the only originality being in its story which is not enough by itself to gain high marks.

It is quite clear that Ubisoft must surely have focused most of their efforts on the simultaneously released 'Unity' for the Playstation 4 although that particular release also has a fair share of technical problems.

Graphically and audio wise, Rogue is up to standards and is on par with Black Flag, the previous Creed game. Some aspects of the game have been tweaked, mainly to do with controlling and fighting with the ship and the player can now throw throwing knives at enemies as they could in the 2011 game Revelations. But those added features do not bump up the entertainment factor and I was left wondering whether Ubisoft should have just called the game Black Flag 1.5.

Having now completed the campaign I have listed my copy of Assassins Creed Rogue on Ebay. I can only hope that Far Cry 4 gives players of the last generation console something to remember it by before most of us surely head into the next generation of gaming in 2015.
