Essential to the series, yet similar.

Revelations is a great addition to the series, and its story kept me moving, although I wanted more from the game play which seemed to be too similar. To be completely honest, I hadn't played Brotherhood, and I am basing this review solely on Revelations' story and similar game play. Revelations improves on Brotherhood and AC:2 in subtle ways while keeping the mechanics that makes the Assassin's Creed franchise great. I guess it was a positive aspect that I had skipped Brotherhood, otherwise I would have found many of the features more repetitive than I already had found them. Aside from that, Revelations has a fun multiplayer which tests your tactics, wits and your ability to be patient. I mainly played it to continue the story line have myself ready for another installment in the franchise. In conclusion, the subtle differences in Revelations make for a refreshing experience, and Istanbul is as great as it was in that time. The overall experience is driven by the curiosity of knowing what is to happen next as Ezio delved deeper into the secrets Altair left behind. As always, Assassin's Creed games always seem to inspire and intrigue me, and Revelations is no different.
