Not worth the time or money.
This was my first AC game. I was very excited after all the reviews. When I got home from the store I was prepared to settle in for hours and concentrate solely on the game. Which I did. After a few hours of play I kept thinking to myself when is this game going to start? Did I do something wrong? The tutorial seemed to go on forever.
As I finally got into what I finally determined was the game I realized this game just sucks. Extremely boring in my opinion. My list of complaints are as follows:
1) TOO MANY CUTSCENES! Did I buy a game or a movie? Yeah, the graphics are good, but the game itself is lost to the cutscenes. For every minute of gameplay there's five minutes of cutscenes. It gets old real fast.
2) Open world for what purpose? The big talk was that they made it open world which is why I tried it. Unlike Fable, in this game you cannot interact with others. You cannot do anything but run. Which, by the way, takes forever. I don't get why they made the open world. It's completely pointless.
3) The fighting is ridiculous. I have found this to be yet another boring aspect. The controls seem to do whatever and you seem to have no control of the fight. It's not easy to zero in on an opponent and its not easy to control. It's slow and not entertaining.
4) Not enough side objectives. At least in Fable you could kill time by doing side jobs. In this game they are few and far between in AC and you cannot decide when to complete them because you seem to always be on a main objective mission - which are boring.
5) Follow the green dot seems to be the name of the game. Yeah, it's supposed to be a game of strategy and control, by you're truly limited to following the green dot if you ever want to move the game along. Cutscenes. Green dot. Cutscenes. Green dot.
6) Is there a point? There seems to be everything and nothing going on at the same time. What's my objective? Endless cutscenes and ramblings seemed to confuse me more and more. Why? because at this point i have interest in the game. Hide and seek at one point, literally. Why am I playing hide and seek?
Overall, I have made it only to SEQUENCE FOUR!?!?! What the hell? I seriously doubt I will finish this game. The gameplay is way too slow. The story is boring. The cutscenes are a constant drag. The controls are lacking. The side objectives are too far and few between. I just cannot get into this game. It's not like other games where I do not want to walk away.
Bottom line is it's boring, slow and not worth the cash. I doubt I will ever complete the game. What a disappointment.
