This DLC unfortunately doesn't add any new features to Assassin Creed 2 other than some sweet dialogues from Caterina.

When Ezio meets Caterina Sforza for the first time (back in sequence 6), she did say to him that they will meet again someday. Well that someday is something I didn't expect as it was in the form of this DLC, and it form part of sequence 12 – yes (along with sequence 13) where the animus data was 'corrupted' during the main campaign. Well as it happens to be, sequence 12 was able to be repaired and voila, you are back in that swampy area of Forli only this time to save the city from the invading Spanish Orsi brothers. Well, it's a little more than that however the crux of it is just hack your way through until everything dies.

This DLC unfortunately doesn't add any new features to Assassin Creed 2 however it does produce some nice characterisation from Caterina. As you probably guess, she's a little flirty however she does more than flirts in this DLC. Actually she displays no shame considering her city is under siege and her children has been kidnapped also. Screaming at the Orsi brothers 'You want my children? Take it them! I have the instrument to make more!' doesn't leave much to your imagination to what's she referring to. Also when Ezio is searching for a man with a missing finger and the monk's reply was that he knows of a man with a missing leg and another with a missing arm, the conversation was little on the light side.

So basically it's a hack and slash DLC with some humorous conversation as the side dish. Of course there's nothing wrong with that however there's a sour point to this – you need to also protect Caterina among the trillions of soldiers attacking her and stupidly enough, she rushes in and attacks like a battle tank. I'm all for the woman doing this however when wearing a dress as her armour and a welding a dagger as her weapon, well things are not going to last very long – well in Assassin's Creed that is. So I 'lost sync' twice before finally saving the city due to her courageous onslaught.

So my tactic is just run ahead, mow down a couple of soldiers, rinse and repeat. If Caterina does manage to catch up, smoke bomb the area as that should do the trick – and besides, all the shops are still open during this siege (go figure) so it acts as a good break to have a cup of coffee if you require substance.

Also there's another feature where if you get bored, you can access Leonardo's flying machine which is located on top of the lighthouse. It's just a matter of climb up there, grab the machine and fly like the wind – over and over again. Other words, I presume because you only get to use this device once in a very short yet very entertaining sequence, it's now here in Forli to use it whenever you like – over Forli of course. So if you managed to miss the 'Fly Swatter' achievement, well here's your opportunity to grab it. And sadly, there's no achievement for completing sequence 12.

The entire DLC can be completed within an hour or so, so basically it's amazingly short, even for me. As mentioned before, it doesn't bring anything new to the table (other than listening to the constant barrage of words from Caterina which was entertaining) however I would be kinda peeved if I have to pay for this. Also I cannot see why this was removed during the original release as it's only an hour long. Whatever the reason is, the preferred option is to get this DLC as part of a package instead of purchasing it individually.
