Visually great, gameplay fun

First, there's a lot to do in these games. Truthfully, I turned off all side-quests and still got a solid 30 hours out if the game. Everything looks great—perched atop a massive cathedral peak overlooking Venice is amazing. Free running, jumping through the environment and into rooftops never gets old, though can be a bit frustrating when missing a ledge or going for one that you just weren't trying to jump on. Missions are fun though have a certain pattern. Follow in stealth, escort, assassinate, travel...those are all fun however. The easily skipped over part involves gathering 'seals' which are made out to seem really important but really are not. And they are annoying to collect. Basically a big, time-consuming level puzzle. Leveling up is fun and using the different weapons is exciting. Also the in-game city-restoration/sims-like game is cool and can generate useful money in a cool way. (Too bad you have to collect it by interrupting your mission and traveling back to the 'chest'). Learning combat is key. Once you get how to block & counter, you're ready to fight them all melee. You just have to practice that. Spend some time with the combat trainer. (Also use the poison blade! I didn't experience the fun & usefulness of this till late in the game!) Overall, I super fun game. I bought ACIII right after finishing this one. Missions could have been a little bit more varied but doesn't detract from the sheer awesome feeling of being a feared assassin in 'Roma'. (And yes, the soundtrack is great.)
