A good action game that should keep you interested enough to finish it.

User Rating: 8 | Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition PC
Assassins Creed to me was sort of a compilation of the action and climbing of their prince of persia series. The end result was fairly good.

.:Story:.
In Assassins Creed, you are Altair, the highest ranked assassin in the Assassin's Creed. Your failure on an important mission soon demotes you back to square one. To get back to the top your mentor tells you to assassinate 9 men, with a rank being restored on each assassination. On the flipside, you aren't REALLY Altair, but rather a descendant of him. You will find this out in the first minutes of the game. Overall, the story is pretty good with a nice twist at the end which you could probably see coming.

.:Gameplay:.
Assassins Creed's gameplay is summed up like this. You go to one of 3 cities in which one assassination target will be, investigate for info on that target, and assassinate the target. You do this 9 times until the game is over. Now, to get the investigation missions(which range from sitting on a bench to eavesdrop to racing to the point on rooftops),you must go to synchronization points in that city. These are quite fun to get up to and are easy to get to. The climbing makes you think like a rockclimber where you have to keep finding foot and handholds. The assassination themselves can range from easy to somewhat difficult. You can either go in swords blazing, or distract the guards so you can assassinate the target easily with a small blade. Either way, you'll have to run away from a numerous amount of guards, which you can escape by escaping their line of site and hiding in hay. The combat feels somewhat realistic, with bloody counters and fluid animations. Overall I felt like i was a real assassin whenever I would throw a knife into a guard's back ontop of a roof.

.:Sound:.
The music in assassin's creed is somewhat, absent. The music that was there wasn't especially memorable either. The voice acting is fine, except for Altair's voice. Everyone has a European accent, but Altair has a very obvious American accent. Ruins the atmosphere a bit.

.:Optimization for PCs:.
Now, i'm not sure if it was my weak processor or just my graphics card, but i wasn't able to get very high frames on my computer. I mean, it was playable to me, but for someone with a weaker computer, i'm not so sure. Frames would never drop to below 10, but when there are a lot of people on the screen( trust me, it happens sometimes), it would get pretty choppy.

Overall, assassins creed is a good game. It has some faults like the repetative missions that you have to repeat 9 times, but the gameplay and the views of the cities from the high points make up for this.
