Publisher Microsoft and developer Blue Fang Games announced that their Zoo Tycoon franchise of games has surpassed the 2-million-unit mark in US retail sales, placing among the 15 best-selling PC games of all time in the US. Appropriate to its title, Zoo Tycoon puts players in the managerial position at a zoo. The game has an isometric look similar to many other games in the genre. Zoo Tycoon is rated "E" for Everyone and was released in 2001. It has seen several expansions and rereleases since then--most recently, 2003's Zoo Tycoon: Complete Collection. A sequel is scheduled for release this October.
