The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom let's players solve its many puzzles in a variety of ways, leading to some pretty obtuse puzzles. The Jochi-iu Shrine for example, tasks players with retrieving a massive ball from a Jenga tower. The shrine, and its puzzle "Courage to Pluck" can be found in the North Akkala Foothill, near the East Akkala Stable. Here's how to solve its puzzle.

How to solve the Jochi-iu Shrine Puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Jochi-iu Shrine takes place in a single large room, where you enter the Shrine. To the right is the door leading to the exit, which requires a large ball to open. In the center is a large ball, on top of a bunch of loose pieces of platform, similar to a Jenga puzzle. To the right is the optional chest, which is sitting just out of reach on a ledge. There is a second optional chest located inside of the Jenga tower. If you jump onto the platform holding the tower, it will automatically drop you into the abyss.

You need the ball to open the door to complete the Shrine.

The goal here is to get the tower to fall towards a ramp, where you will be standing, so you can snag the ball. If the ball drops into the abyss, you fail, and the puzzle resets. First, pull out a piece without the tower falling, like the front bottom piece, so you can use it as a ramp to grab the first optional chest. If you wait until after you retrieve the ball, you might not have any left to grab.

The first optional chest can be reached by using a block piece as a bridge.

The next step you should focus on is getting the second optional chest, the one inside the tower. The chest is located on the fifth level of the tower. You want to pull out the back piece of the third level, right below the chest, and then the back piece of the fifth level, which the chest is resting on. The chest should fall to the bottom platform, where you can grab it with Ultrahand and bring it to yourself. If it doesn't fall in a way you can reach it on the first try, knock the tower over and try again. Once you get the chest, reset the tower.

The second chest can be grabbed after dropping it to bottom level by pulling out the back two blocks.

Now it's time to get the ball. Start by removing the bottom two blocks, starting with the outside one and then doing the middle one.

After removing the bottom two blocks, grab the front most bottom piece and push it away from you, causing the ball to fall towards you.

With those removed, position yourself on the left most part of the ramp area, on the ledge. Grab the bottom block and slide it away from you using up on the D-Pad. Quickly let go of the piece once the tower starts to fall. It should fall towards you, allowing you to snag the ball out of the air with Ultrahand. This requires speed and a favorable fall, so it might take a couple of tries. Once you have the ball, drop it in the slot near the door and complete the Shrine.
