The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Jiukoum Shrine, Built For Rails, might frustrate you to no end. Thankfully, there are a few ways to circumvent the mechanics. Here's our guide to help you complete the Jiukoum Shrine's Built For Rails puzzle in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to solve the Jiukoum Shrine's Built For Rails puzzle in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Jiukoum Shrine can be found just southeast of the Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. From the tower, use the launch pad and glide southeast until you see it on a ridge.

The first two puzzle sections won't likely cause any issues. The first puzzle simply has you riding a metal plate across the rails. For the second part, you'll want to create something that looks like a desk. The additional segments below it will prevent it from sliding off (seen in the image below).

Alternatively, you could just Shield Surf. This is done by equipping a shield and holding ZL to bring it out. Then, go ahead and jump with the X button, followed by the A button. If you do it right, Link will treat his shield like a surfboard or a skateboard, letting you cross the rails with ease.

The third part, though, is where the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Built for Rails puzzle gets tricky. Essentially, you're expected to build two fan-powered mini-plate vehicles. One will let you ride the initial section of the tracks. The other will need to be placed quickly on the next set of tracks, so you could jump off and make your way to the end. Unfortunately, this is a bit of a hassle, primarily due to wonky controls when Ultrahand is active.

As such, similar to the Tukarok Shrine, we just went full-on Caveman Mode. There are a few methods that will help you get across:

  • For us, we built a towering contraption using plates that were attached end-to-end, with some segments that were angled horizontally. This allowed us to pop Ascend for a better vantage point when (a) using the next mini-plate vehicle, or (b) Shield Surfing.
  • We're also aware that it's possible to just build one vehicle, enough to get you to the opposite rail, before doing a shield surf and glide combo.
  • We surmise that it might even be possible to come up with really bizarre combinations that would, in the end, help you cross the gap.

In any case, the image above shows how we made our "tower" of sorts. That led us to complete the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Jiukoum Shrine and Built For Rails puzzle. Feel free to experiment or come up with tricks to suit your needs.

This is but one of many activities that you can do in the game. Don't forget to take a look at our Shrine locations main guide for all the other challenges that you can tackle.
