Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Has Been Hiding This Wind Waker Easter Egg

Is it me, or have I been here before?

Fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild already got one great surprise this year when a sequel for Nintendo Switch was announced to the critically acclaimed game. But in the meantime, discoveries continue to mount in the first Breath of the Wild; players recently seemed to discover an infinite jump glitch, and now, a delightful little Easter egg has seemingly been uncovered. This Easter egg takes us back a few years, to an adventure of Link's called The Wind Waker.

YouTube channel GameXplain was in the middle of filming a separate Breath of the Wild video while toiling around Lurelin Village, a little seaside village just south of the game's map. Deja vu sets in when looking at Lurelin Village because it looks like Outset Island, The Wind Waker's starting location. So much looks the same: the trees and their location, the houses and their location, the ladder and its height, even the formation of the mountainous backdrop. The coincidence is uncanny, especially when the camera pans around to reveal just how much of Lurelin resembles Outset.

Now Playing: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Easter Eggs You Might've (Definitely) Missed

Prepare to be shook by the video below.

This isn't the only Easter egg in Breath of the Wild. In the video compilation above, we rattle off some of the best Easter eggs we've found, such as references to the original Legend of Zelda, speeding up music to discover hidden tracks, finding Lon Lon Ranch, and much more. There's even an Easter egg that may pay tribute to late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

With Nintendo returning to Breath of the Wild's Hyrule for the sequel, there may be even more Easter eggs to uncover.
