Zelda: Breath Of The Wild DLC Pass Announced, Here's What It Comes With

Nintendo is releasing a $20 DLC pass for the RPG.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks like a big game with a lot of stuff to do, but the main story won't be everything that the game offers. Nintendo announced today that it will release extra content for the game; you can get all of it through a $20/£18 Expansion Pass.

The Expansion Pass comes with "two new sets of downloadable content" and you don't have to wait to unlock some of the content. Right after you pick up the pass, three treasure chests will show up in Breath of the Wild's Great Plateau zone.

"One of these treasure chests will contain a shirt with a Nintendo Switch logo that Link can wear during his adventure, exclusive to the Expansion Pass," Nintendo said. "The other two will deliver useful items."

As for the content packs, the first is slated to come out this summer. It introduces the Cave of Trials and a hard mode. Additionally, the add-on introduces "a new feature for the in-game map."

The second Breath of the Wild expansion, due out in holiday 2017, adds "new challenges that will let players enjoy a new dungeon and a new original story."

The content packs cannot be purchased individually; they will be available for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of Breath of the Wild.

"With this new Expansion Pass, we hope that fans will play, explore, and enjoy the game even more," producer Eiji Aonuma said in a statement.

Breath of the Wild launches on March 3. For lots more on the game, check out all of GameSpot's previous coverage here.
