Zack Snyder Will Screen His DC Movies, Including Justice League, In Theaters Next Month

The mini-marathon will be in Los Angeles, not a nationwide rerelease.

Last week director Zack Snyder posted a mysterious message teasing that everything will come "full circle." The video had his version of Darkseid from the Justice League movie and immediately put Snyder fans into a frenzy. It was speculated to be everything from a comic book event to a brand-new DC involvement.

What it turned out to be is a three-day event screening of his DC films: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Zack Snyder's Justice League. The Snyder Cut is his R-rated, four-hour film that went directly to streaming on HBO Max in 2021. The director also shared the event will raise funds for two causes dear to him: the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and the Autumn Snyder Tribute Fund.

"It's kind of a nice coming together of different things. I had always wanted to screen my three DC movies in the theater, together, and it was always one of those things that we were never sure would ever happen," Snyder told The Nerd Queens on a live stream (via ComicBook). "Because the IMAX version of Justice League, we have screened it a couple of times in the black-and-white version [Zack Snyder's Justice League: Justice Is Gray Edition]. I just wasn't sure there was going to be another time when we could get the color version into the theater."

Zack Snyder's Full Circle aka SnyderCon 2023 will take place Friday, April 28th (Man of Steel); Saturday, April 29th (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice); and Sunday, April 30th (Zack Snyder's Justice League on IMAX) at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, and Universal City Walk in Universal City, CA. Attendees will receive t-shirts designed by legendary comic book artist and DC Chief Creative Officer and Publisher Jim Lee. According to Snyder, two posters will be available: a SnyderVerse trilogy poster and a Full Circle event poster. Other "fan-driven events" surrounding Full Circle will include giveaways and an appearance by the Snyderverse Batmobile.

"I really wanted everyone to see the movie in IMAX because it was formatted for IMAX," Snyder continued. "It's really designed for an IMAX experience. When you see it in IMAX, I think it's completely different from when you see it on TV."

The event comes right before The Flash finally arrives in theaters and is reportedly set to "reset" the DC Universe. Snyder's universe began with 2013's Man of Steel, bringing Henry Cavill to national fame as this generation's Superman. Man of Steel polarized fans but it was Batman v Superman where the cracks began to show in DC's proposed plan for its string of releases. Even though the film made over $870 million worldwide, its actual gross profit is around $100 million after expenses.

Snyder's next big film will be Rebel Moon for Netflix as part of his multi-film deal with the streaming company.
