Yu Yu Hakusho was different from the usual Shonen anime of the time, as it focused on fourteen-year-old punk Yusuke, a high school delinquent who performs an uncharacteristic act of self-sacrifice. With the afterlife unprepared for this, Yusuke soon finds work as a spirit detective who stop demons and humans with aspirations of ruling the three realms of reality. From there, the show expands in big and unexpected ways, with new cast members, story arcs, and startling revelations across all four of its seasons.

It's worth mentioning that this box set features 4:3 aspect ratio versions of the original episodes. Given the show was produced before the advent of widescreen TVs, this isn't surprising.
