Han Solo actor Alden Ehrenreich has confirmed that Chewbacca will, as rumored, appear in the 2018 Star Wars spinoff movie. He told Variety that confirming that the Wookie is in the movie is one of the few things he can say about the upcoming film.

"I can say that Chewbacca's in the film, although I know that's not a huge spoiler," Ehrenreich said.

Back in March, Disney chief Bob Iger let slip that Chewbacca would be in the Han Solo movie, when he said during a meeting with investors that the film will be an "origin story about Han Solo and Chewie."

As of yet, it's unknown if Peter Mayhew will return to play Chewbacca or if the hairy character will be shorter since he's younger.

"He's as much younger as I am in the film," Ehrenreich joked in the interview with Variety. "So, I think he's like 190--or something--years old. I don't think there's a huge growth spurt for him from 190 to 210, so he's probably about the same height."

Also in the interview, Ehrenreich said he is "really excited" about the news that Donald Glover will play Lando Calrissian. "I think he's going to be great in the role because he's such a talented and interesting guy," he said about his co-star.

According to a recent report, the film may show how Han Solo won the Millennium Falcon from Calrissian. The movie's cinematographer recently said the film is "unexpected" and breaks the rules of what fans have come to expect from Star Wars movies. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who made 21 Jump Street and The Lego Movie, are directing.

The next Star Wars movie is December's spinoff, Rogue One.
