You Can Stay At The Home Alone House Later This Month

To celebrate the Disney+ remake Home Sweet Home, you can crash at the house that started it all.

For the holiday season, Airbnb is offering an extremely-limited opportunity to stay overnight December 12 in the Chicago-area house featured in the 1990 comedy Home Alone. You can check out the listing here, but note that as of this writing you don't have to rush to try to reserve it--booking will open on December 7 at 2 PM ET.

From the listing itself: "It's a holiday wish come true--a cozy holiday scene with twinkling lights and a perfectly trimmed tree awaits you at the McCallister 'castle.'" The house looks pretty much like it did in the original movie, complete with a lawn jockey outside, tarantula indoors, and paint cans dangling above the staircase. The listing makes no explicit mention of whether the house will be booby-trapped.

For $25 (plus taxes and fees), though, one lucky--and hopefully pandemic-safe traveler--will get the chance of a lifetime to stay in the same suburban Winnetka, IL. home where Macaulay Culkin repeatedly got the best of Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. The movie has spawned its own enduring film franchise--including several made-for-TV films and direct-to-video sequels--but this listing is part of a holiday promotion for the recently-released Disney+ remake, Home Sweet Home Alone.

Although bookings will likely be competitive, note that the promotion will not cover travel costs.

Culkin's brother Kieran can be seen in Succession, whose Season 3 recently kicked off on HBO back in October.
