You Can Play Super Smash Bros. Ultimate For Switch At Some Best Buys Soon
Try the upcoming Switch brawler out (if you live in one of the participating cities).
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate arrives on Nintendo Switch this December, but some fans will have a chance to go hands-on with the highly anticipated fighting game before then. Electronics retailer Best Buy will hold several Super Smash Bros. Ultimate demo events around the US during September and October, allowing attendees to try the mascot brawler out ahead of its release.
The demo event will come to two different cities every weekend for the next several weeks. The first was hosted at participating Best Buy stores in New York and San Jose this Saturday and Sunday, September 8-9. The event runs from 10 AM to 7 PM local time on Saturday, and 11 AM to 5 PM local time on Sunday.
The following weekend, on September 15-16, the demo event will be hosted in Los Angeles and Chicago, with additional events scheduled to come to Dallas, Minneapolis, Miami, and other cities after that. You can find the complete event schedule, courtesy of Best Buy's official blog, below:
- September 8-9 -- New York City and San Jose
- September 15-16 -- Los Angeles and Chicago
- September 22-23 -- Dallas and Minneapolis
- September 29-30 -- Atlanta and Denver
- October 6-7 -- Miami and Seattle
Demo units will only be available at one particular location in each city; you can see the participating stores by clicking on the corresponding links above.
Outside of recent events like E3 and PAX West, this marks the first chance most fans will have to try Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before it launches, so if you're interested in checking the game out and live near one of the participating cities, this is a good opportunity to see why it was one of our favorite games from E3 2018.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate releases for Nintendo Switch on December 7. Nintendo recently unveiled the game's special edition, which retails for $140 and includes a steelbook case featuring the Smash Bros. logo along with a nice-looking Smash Bros.-themed Switch Pro Controller. The controller will also be sold separately for $75. You can read more in our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate pre-order guide.
