Disintegration Gets A Free Weekend
The game is the first release from V1 Interactive, a new studio founded by Master Chief co-creator Marcus Leto.
Disintegration is a genre-bending first-person shooter set in a sci-fi world, which had the misfortune of being released in the same week as The Last Of Us 2. As the first game from Bungie alumni Marcus Leto's new studio V1 Interactive, published by Private Division, players will now have a chance to check out the game for free this weekend on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
Featuring both multiplayer and a single-player campaign, Disintegration sends its Gravcycle-riding characters out on challenging missions that demand players to be adept at both shooting and real-time strategy.
The game will be available for free in these windows on the three different platforms:
- PlayStation 4: July 30 at 9 AM PST until August 3 at 9 AM PST
- Xbox One: July 30 at 12 AM PST until August 2 at 11:59 PM PST
- PC: July 30 at 12 AM PST until August 3 at 10 AM PST
Players who decide to purchase the game after the free play period will be able to save their progress.
GameSpot's review of Disintegration praised the game for being "one of the few that literally blends core real-time tactics mechanics and first-person shooting… When Disintegration works, it really works. You're shooting guns, you're calling advances and retreats, ordering missile strikes. You really get the sense that you're in the thick of it, the heart of a battle. Both the excitement and stress it induces are testaments to how thoroughly the gameplay draws you in. There are elements around the periphery of the experience that could have been better tuned, but they do not detract from what makes it work."
The game has been patched recently, with the Disintegration team promising further updates in response to community feedback, including new maps, crews, and modes.
