Yes, Christopher Nolan Loves Fast & Furious Movies As Much As You Do

If you've never seen a Fast & Furious movie, start with Tokyo Drift, Christopher Nolan says.

Christopher Nolan has weighed in with his thoughts on the Fast & Furious franchise. Some say Fast & Furious is their "guilty pleasure," but Nolan said The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that he has "no guilt" about being a fan of the franchise (via Variety).

He said Fast & Furious is a "tremendous action franchise," adding that he watches the films "all the time. I love them."

For anyone new to the series, Nolan recommended starting with Tokyo Drift. He remarked that the latest films have their own "specific arc and mythology," which is why he recommended starting with the 2006 film and enjoying it as its "own thing."

Nolan previously said he had a "very soft spot" for the Fast & Furious series, so the revelation that he's a fan of the franchise isn't a totally new thing.

The latest Fast & Furious movie was 2023's Fast X. A sequel is now in the works and might be released in 2025.

As for Nolan, his latest film, Oppenheimer, is nominated for 13 Academy Awards this year, including Best Picture and Best Director for Nolan. He's never won before, but also earned nominations for Memento, Inception, and Dunkirk.
