Sega has released a new trailer for Yakuza Kiwami, the modern remake of the first game in the series. The video, which you can watch below, shows off the PlayStation 2 classic running on a modern engine.

Yakuza Kiwami was announced alongside Yakuza 6 in September, 2015. Along with a visual overhaul, the game will feature a new scenario and system.

According to series creator Toshiro Nagoshi, who revealed the game during Sony's PlayStation conference at TGS 2015, the re-release will be available on January 21, 2016 in Japan. It will launch on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

As of yet it is unclear whether Sony or Sega plan to release this game in western territories. Previous entries in the series, however, have been made available in North America and Europe some time after their Japanese launches.

Yakuza 6, meanwhile, is in development exclusively for the PlayStation 4. It is scheduled for a Fall 2016 launch.
