Rumours of a Vita version of XCOM: Enemy Unknown first appeared online in July 2015, when it was listen on a Korean video game ratings board's website.

Civilization Revolution 2 Plus, a portable version of the strategy game, is also expected for Sony's portable. It was originally supposed to launch in December 2015, but was pushed to January 26, 2016 just a day before its scheduled release.

The game was delayed yet again on January 24, when it was moved to sometime "later this year," according to a post on the official Civilization Facebook page.

In GameSpot's XCOM: Enemy Unknown review, the PC version of the game was described as "a wonderful and worthy strategy game with a layer of campy charm that makes the stone-faced seriousness of the game's characters all the more endearing."

Reviewed Kevin VanOrd continued: "It's also remarkably accessible, thanks to a great interface that feels comfortable whether you're using a keyboard and mouse or have a controller in your hand. Enemy Unknown packs dense amounts of dramatic tension into each turn. And so it's time to eliminate the alien threat, commander. Select a location, build your base…and save humanity."

Since its release in Enemy Unknown's release in 2012, developer Firaxis has followed up with a sequel. XCOM 2 was released on February 5, 2016 and earned a 9/10 in GameSpot's review.

Does this include the full X-Com package of Enemy Unknown + Enemy Within?

Because it's definitely not worth $20 if it's just vanilla EU

Pricing on this just seems "wrong". Isn't the mobile version of Enemy Within like $10? Why is this $20? Given the age of the game it would need to be $5 or less for me to even consider buying it for a 4th time.

I'm a sucker, but not that much of a sucker.

meh this, theme park

me vita is just a portable final fantasy carrier

So it randomly appears, most people won't even realize it, it will sell terribly, and Sony will go "see, they just want mobile experiences....."

But the "e" in surprise is silent, so how would you pronounce that!?

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is best played on PC but still, it's a good game even if don't play it on PC and also, nice to see the Vita is getting more support at least.

@davillain-: It's a turn-based strategy game, so there's no real advantage to playing on PC.

Unless you're trying to claim that PC has better graphics than Vita. That might be true...

@milk: With the PC version you can get the Long War mod, which is a huge upgrade to the game.

Unexpected but welcome; I need to watch some gameplay.

@adsparky: You should play it if giving the chance and I'm still currently playing XCOM 2.

@davillain-: I have it for the ps3 but I want to see how it works on the Vita. Awesome game.
