At a press conference in Berlin today, Microsoft and Robbie Williams have together announced their partnership for Williams' upcoming European tour. The Xbox will be one of two headline tour sponsors and will have a presence at all 15 of the dates on the tour, which will take in eight different countries and kicks off in Edinburgh, Scotland, on June 28, 2003.

"Robbie Williams is a great partner for the Xbox," said Neil Thompson, European marketing director for the Xbox. "Like the Xbox, Robbie is stylish, exciting, and appeals to a wide audience. We're thrilled to partner with him to help support his upcoming tour, at which the Xbox will have a large presence. And as a gamer, Robbie is looking forward to partnering with his favorite video game system--the Xbox."

The Xbox presence at Robbie Williams' tour dates will, among other things, include demo pods at selected venues that fans will be able to play both before the concert and during the intermission. "I'm really glad the Xbox is partnering with us for my new tour," Williams said. "I love playing the Xbox at home, and now I get to play it every night! I'm looking forward to seeing all my fans having fun with the Xbox at the shows."

In Germany, Robbie Williams fans will also have the opportunity to buy a limited-edition Robbie Williams DVD pack containing an Xbox DVD controller and an exclusive Robbie Williams DVD for the same price as a DVD controller alone. We currently have no news on whether or not the DVD pack will be released outside of Germany, where it's already available.
