Xbox Shock Blue Controller On Sale For Great Price

The most visually soothing Xbox Series X|S controller in Microsoft's arsenal just got a steep discount.

A year after it first arrived with the Xbox Series X|S consoles, Microsoft's latest controller for its PC and console gaming division has proven to be one of its best so far. Updated in subtle and meaningful ways, the Xbox controller might not have the next-gen tech that Sony's DualSense peripheral features, but it's arguably a better device to have in your hands for long hours thanks to its superb ergonomic design.

The Xbox controller also lends itself well to customization, a physical feature that Microsoft--and at least one Smash Mouth fan-- have pounced on with a number of brightly-colored alternative designs. You can have your controller in sleek black, dirt-magnet white, or even a bright red, but the best color is obviously the blue variant. Not just a serene and calming application of the most soothing primary color, this visually-cathartic Xbox controller is now also cheaper than ever and will only cost you $50 at several retail stores.

In our Xbox Series X review, critic Michael Higham described the peripheral as having "nice tactile textures on the grips and triggers," as well as a dedicated button for captures that lets you take screenshots or record short clips on the fly. Of course if this particular controller design doesn't suit your tastes, there are a number of other limited edition alternatives coming soon. Forza Horizon 5 is launching with a funky splash of color, the Xbox 20th anniversary controller gives you a glimpse into the innards of the device, and the Aqua Shift controller has a great gradient to feast your eyes on.
