Xbox Series X/S Console Exclusive The Medium Delayed Into 2021

Bloober Team's ambitious horror game will skip December.

The Medium--one of the very few launch-period Xbox Series X games not also coming to Xbox One--has been delayed. The game, which was due on December 10, will now arrive on January 28, 2021. It'll be available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The game has been delayed "due to the COVID-19 situation in Poland, as well as the current schedule of other games on the market," developer Bloober Team announced in a tweet. By "other games," they likely mean Cyberpunk 2077, which is due December 10.

The game is a psychological horror game about Marianne, a medium who moves between the real world and the "spirit realm" at will, solving puzzles between the two using her psychic abilities.

Now Playing: The Medium Reveal Trailer | Xbox Games Showcase 2020

This is not the first game to get out of Cyberpunk's way--Path of Exile delayed an expansion, too. Everspace 2 has also moved into January from a December release date, citing Cyberpunk as the reason.

The Xbox Series X/S launch November 10, and The Medium is one of the system's major "launch period" exclusives. The game was actually in the works for Xbox 360 many years ago.

The Medium will release through Xbox Game Pass when it arrives on systems next year. You can nab a bonus soundtrack and digital artbook if you preorder on Steam.

That sucks! I'm definately getting the Series X, but I wish they would stop pushing back their exclusive launch titles! No Medium and Halo 6 for awhile......oh well.

Ouch, it's almost 2021 and we're still calling multiplatform games 'exclusive'? Sorry, but adding terms to change the definition doesn't count, a multiplatform game is just that. You do remember Phil Spencer took the brand 3rd party right? He's only been talking about it for the last 3 years while also not putting out a single exclusive since 2015. It's not like that information is hidden or anything, it's extremely well known, Xboys just choose to ignore FACTS. Next you'll be telling me Gamepass is a good deal (it isn't), and that it's very pro-consumer (again, it isn't), or that Phil has been doing great with Xbox (if taking it 3rd party to remain relevant and give nobody a reason to buy a Series X is 'doing great' then okay I guess).

We really need journalists who will call him and Aaron Greenberg out for the scum they are, and treat Microsoft the way they need to be treated. Nobody praised Sega for fucking up so badly they needed to go 3rd party, yet that's all we've heard about Xbox. Gotta love the paychecks rolling in though. Any intelligent gamer can see through it, and Xbox is the literal laughingstock of the gaming industry without question.

Better hope they don't delay Cyberpunk yet again to January then.
