Xbox Series X July Event Will Focus Only On Games

*First* Party that everyone can play on their PC day one for $5 on gamepass.

There is no denying there, it is VERY good for the consumer. But what about the campany in charge of said product? Why would anybody even consider getting an XSX if they own a pc?

@Lord_Sesshy: I just don’t understand some people. These Sony fanboys really think that being able to play on multiple platforms is a bad thing. I find it rather hilarious to be quite honest. Not to mention Microsoft don’t care what you play on (Xbox, PC) as long as it’s purchased though their store period

Now if Sony has the same infrastructure as Microsoft, the fanboys would find something else to knock MS on

@Lord_Sesshy: The difference being that Microsoft began showing its hand long before Sony did. the company had more mindshare with people before Sony held its conference a month before. Microsoft showing just games is a little weak on their end because the company has been talking it has the stronger hardware but have not shown why having 12 teraflops matters. With first party games being cross generation on Xbox One for close to two years, I doubt we will see what the extra 1.75 teraflops does. What is the distinction between Xbox One and Series X other than it plays the same games, but runs them better? The series X right now just feels like a high end version of Xbox One. Sony has begun to show things that WON'T be available on PS4 regardless of whether the previous system COULD run some things. The series X feels like it's the "best" way to play Xbox games whereas the PS5 is the only way way you can play certain titles. What motivation is there to get a series X if all of the new games work on a console that people already have?

@Lord_Sesshy: I don't favor either system really. I do most of my gaming on PC. My point is simply that Sony went first on the games and came out with a very well received reveal of the PS5's game line-up and M$ is likely now feeling pressure to answer it, particularly because there is widespread opinion that Sony crushed it this generation with its exclusives and XBox, even though it had some really good exclusives, didn't do quite as well.

It has nothing to do with it being ok or not ok when either of them did it. I'm just observing how the back and forth, the jockeying for marketing position, is playing out.

M$ has consistently had a bit of a misconception that they can make it all about the hardware, while Sony took the other route, making it all about the games. If M$ is coming to the realization that they should be making it all about the games, then everyone will benefit.
