Ahead of the holiday season, Microsoft has announced a new Xbox hardware bundle. The Xbox Series S Starter Bundle, as it's called, is aimed at people new to the Xbox ecosystem.

The $300 bundle comes with a 512GB Xbox Series S and three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. The new bundle launches October 31 through the Microsoft Store and retailers across the globe.

The Series S normally sells for $300, so the real perk here is the three months of Game Pass Ultimate. A membership normally costs $17/month.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gets subscribers access to all of Microsoft's first-party new releases on day one, as well as a growing catalog of titles from third-party publishers. Another perk of Game Pass Ultimate is EA Play, which has its own catalog of EA games in the Battlefield, Madden, Star Wars series that members can play for no extra cost. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate also includes access to Xbox Cloud Gaming that allows you to play Starfield on your iPhone.

With so many games to potentially install via Game Pass and EA Play, the Starter Bundle's 512 GB hard drive is sure to fill up fast. Thankfully, you can either delete games or invest in a expansion card. Microsoft also has a 1TB Xbox Series S console but it's not part of this offer.

Microsoft isn't the only company rolling out new gaming hardware soon, as Sony is releasing a PS5 slim in November and a PS5 Modern Warfare III bundle.
