Xbox President Says Every Game From Its Studios Will Launch Day-One On Game Pass

Call of Duty could be launching on Game Pass.

While we already know that Microsoft's first-party games are included in Game Pass on launch day, Xbox leadership has once again reiterated that fact.

In an interview with Bloomberg at Bloomberg Tech in San Francisco, Xbox president Sarah Bond said, "You're going to see some more really big games going into Game Pass later this year" The interviewer interjected to say "from Activision?" and Bond replied, "Across the whole slate."

This suggests that the next Call of Duty game will be added to Game Pass on launch day, even though there are reports that Microsoft is internally debating on whether to go down that route. Some theorize that putting future Call of Duty releases onto Game Pass could negatively impact the game's sales.

With its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft is now under much more financial scrutiny to make good on the $69 billion cost. Microsoft is also reportedly considering raising the price of Game Pass Ultimate. Earlier this week, Microsoft shut down several of its studios, including Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks. Reportedly, they were closed due to a reprioritization of resources and that the timeline for their pitched projects was too far out.

Xbox is airing a showcase on June 9 and then following up with a deep dive direct on the next entry of one of its franchises, which is heavily implied to be Call of Duty. The next game is rumored to be a Black Ops title, and will be available on all platforms, including PlayStation.
