Xbox One Price Drop to $300 Announced for the Holidays
The move matches PS4.
Microsoft has announced a new Xbox One limited-time price cut promotion to match the offer made by Sony, its main competitor in the console space.
Starting today, December 9, and running through December 26, all Xbox One consoles will drop in price by $50 in the United States. That means you can get a new system for just $300, which is the same price the console was offered for on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
Microsoft has also announced a new digital game sale. From December 22 to January 7, Microsoft will offer a variety of "Countdown" deals for Xbox games on a daily and weekly basis. In addition, retailers across the US will offer other holiday deals, though these have not been announced at this time.
The Xbox One outsold the PS4 in the US during October. Very soon we'll find out which system came out on top for November, as NPD data is expected to be announced tomorrow, December 10.
