Xbox One Power Supply Units Now Available to Buy

You can get a new one for as little as $35 if it's not covered under your warranty.

Up until recently, there was no way to buy an additional Xbox One power supply, which was kind of a bummer if you needed one. But now, Microsoft has added that very option to the Xbox Support site.

Simply head to the Xbox Support site, select "Replace an Accessory," and then choose Power Supply. From there, you can either choose to return a non-functioning power supply to Microsoft and get a new one for $35, or you can buy a new one outright for $50.

A replacement power supply is not covered under the standard Xbox One warranty. Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb confirmed the news on Reddit (via Microsoft-News).

In other Xbox One news, the console is "gaining momentum" in the United States. In August, the console was outsold again by the PlayStation 4, but sales grew 26 percent compared to last year.

Didn't know the power supplies were being reported damage should you need a replacement. Nice to see MS is taking a notice on the issue at hand. Now that I think about it, I never ever had an issue with any power supply from my gaming consoles or PC. I'm one lucky SOB.

@davillain-: I'm sure some have issues, but this mostly came about because someone lost their PSU when they moved. There was no way to get a replacement without sending in the old one, rendering their X1 useless unless they bought a Chinese knock-off PSU. So the person posted the issue on the reddit xbox one page, Major Nelson saw the post and fixed it, rather quickly too.

@davillain-: I had one go bad on my OG Xbox a long time ago, before they issued the updated safety cord. Couldn't get the fucker out to swap a new one in so I had two Xbox's with different problems stacked(one upside down) and the power from one Xbox plugged into the other ones mobo. Was quite hilarious to see, almost wish I still had pics of that monster!
