Xbox One out in Japan in early 2014
Microsoft Japan president states that country is classified as "tier 2 country" for release schedule.
Microsoft has confirmed on website 4Gamer that the Xbox One will be out in Japan in early 2014, according to a report on Games Industry International.
The company's Japan president Yasuyui Higuchi said that since Japan is a "Tier 2 country" in terms of market demand, the console will be out after its 2013 release in the 21 countries listed. Higuchi said that the device "won't be delayed too much from the North American release."
In related news, Microsoft announced that the Xbox One will be out in Asia late next year. In Japan, sales of the Xbox 360 had been at an all-time low when compared to the sales figures of its competitor's consoles. Lifetime sales of the Xbox 360 in Japan is at 1.63 million units after its eight-year tenure in the market.
