Xbox One Has "Best Lineup" for 2016, Exec Says

"Frankly, next year's lineup is as big if not bigger."

Speaking this week at the Credit Suisse Technology Conference, Microsoft marketing executive Yusuf Mehdi said Xbox One owners can look forward to the company's "best lineup" of games in 2016. If that sounds familiar, it might be because Microsoft has repeatedly referred to this holiday's lineup of games as the "greatest games lineup in Xbox history." Next year will be huge, too, Mehdi said.

"If you like to game, this is the year to get an Xbox," Mehdi said. "We have Halo 5 launching. We have Minecraft on Xbox. We have Gears of War, Tomb Raider. The best lineup; next year will also be the best lineup. That's led to really a great success on [Xbox]."

Assuming no games get delayed, next year's Xbox One lineup of exclusive or timed-exclusive games will include Quantum Break, Crackdown 3, Inside, Scalebound, Below, Gears of War 4, Killer Instinct Season 3, and Sea of Thieves. It's also entirely possible that more games will be announced in the next year.

Mehdi's comments follow those from Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg, who said in October that 2016's lineup could be bigger than this year's.

"I really feel like the team is firing on all cylinders and we're not going to stop after this holiday," he said at the time. "Frankly, next year's lineup is as big if not bigger."
